Capt. Ahmed Youssef is currently working as the Director of the International Forum for Maritime Transport in AASTMT (Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport), he is also a member of the Arab Institute of Navigation and the Maritime Institute of Eastern Mediterranean.

Moreover, Ahmed is a Master Mariner that worked as a navigation officer onboard in different types of vessels. He obtained his B.Sc (Hons), Post Graduate Diploma and his Master Degree in Quality Management and Productivity from the AASTMT, Egypt.

Since 2003, he has been a Marine Lecturer in AASTMT teaching Nautical Science and Management Skills in the Maritime field. He also taught as a visiting professor in Maine Maritime Academy in the United States.

During his academic career, he participated as a Guest Speaker in many International conferences. Ahmed Has also published papers pertaining to the field of Educational Technology, Maritime H.R and methods of maintaining a sustainable development of the Maritime caliber. He introduced the intelligent/interactive learning application that is beyond e-Learning concept as he holds the intellectual copyrights property certificate of this application that was introduced by him for the first time in a conference in Saint Petersburg, Russia in 2004." Aiming at developing the Maritime Education and Training with the aid of Technology Enhanced Learning.

As part of Ahmed's strategic AASTMT expansion planning involvement, he succeeded in establishing the AAST Maritime programs in Greece as a gateway to extend AAST quality MET services to the European Union.
